Catch-22

catch_twenty_two_xlgRemember that great war movie from 1970?  No, not Patton, the war SATIRE from 1970.  No, not M.A.S.H., the OTHER war satire from 1970.  That’s right, Catch-22.  We watch it, and you should watch us watch it.
In Seen It, we discuss right-turning apes, dog-biting men and shadow-casting vampires.

That guy in the red sweater in the CATCH-22 episode is none other than Matthew Gray Gubler, star of TV’s CRIMINAL MINDS, and former model. In the first seasons of CM they dressed him all nerdy, like in those photos, but then something switched and his wardrobe became all preppy hipster. MGG clearly revolted against the nerdy look and put his modeling experience to work. Nowadays you could do worse than use him as a fashion guide. Plus, Craig should grow his hair out.

I have to say I am both a huge fan of the movie M.A.S.H. and also of Catch-22. Both are great war satires but I do have to say Catch-22 is better because I think it captures more the insanity of war, while I think M.A.S.H. captures more of how some people dealt with the insanity of the war. I think the reason Catch-22 was overlooked because with unconventional bouncing around in time probably put off some people. Either way Catch-22 is a very good film that I’d recommend to anyone to watch with an all star cast.

I watched midnight cowboy when I was in the 8th grade (Im in the 10th grade now)
and it changed the way I look at everything around me and movies. on the first viewing it made me cry and I was sad for days after watching. It made me realize that not all stories have happy endings. With that in mind I wish to ask,
what movie(s) made you have a similar experience like I did? if so, what movie was it and what was the experience you had, and how did it changed you?
