Miami Blues

In Seen It, we discuss Mosquito-ridden coasts, alien-infested blocks and Matt goes on a rant about a critically-acclaimed recent film.

Miami Blues was my father’s favorite movie. He was kind of a lovable loser, too, and really related to the Hoke Mosely character. His favorite line (and mine) comes from Nora Dunn at the very end of the movie, when she calls Jennifer Jason Leigh’s character “Princess Not-So-Bright.” My dad died in 2007, but I still use that insult to this day. It always reminds me of him. Thanks for reviewing this great, overlooked movie!
