In Seen It, we discuss the Coen Brothers, the cyclical buddhism of Groundhog Day and “Redeemable A-holes” in movies.

Great show! I’m assuming you’ve totally seen “The Fountain”. This one of my absolute favourite films from a cinematographic point of view. I love the organic quality of the special effects. (Kind of interesting story how that came to be because of budget constraints) I’m wondering what you thought about that film, and whether you have any other favourites in the “poetic visual stunningness” category?

Another great episode! I thought it was funny at 10:27 when you commented that Ginger was “showing off…everything!”, she has the facial expression of someone with a gun in their back!

    Hey Guys,

During last episode Matt mentioned three movies when discussing the Big Labowski: Fargo, Barton Fink, and Miller’s Crossing. I hadn’t seen the last two and loved The Big Labowski and Fargo so I decided I’d check them out. Watched Barton Fink. I get that there’s underlying symbolism here and I appreciate that but mostly I was unimpressed that there wasn’t more going on. What are your takes on this movie?
