Akira-Poster-akira-13827694-1013-1500Sci-fi July continues in the gnarly world of Neo Tokyo: rival bike gangs, psychic blue children and (of course) widespread destruction.  Will Matt and Craig survive the nuclear blast that is Akira?
Seen It: On Location comes from various exotic locales.  Marvel at the grandeur of mountains, glaciers and horses as we discuss fight clubs, pillar-dwelling saints and the end of the world.

Hey guys! So since you watched Akira, do you think you could handle some Satoshi Kon? Why not “Tokyo Godfathers”? I don’t think there’s a dub yet but the subtitles are perfectly fine!

Oooooooor “Tales from Earthsea”, the first full length feature film that Hayao Miyazaki’s son directed. Evidently Miyazaki felt his son couldn’t handle the burden of directorship at the time, and there was a family rift for a while after this movie released. Needless to say, Miyazaki was right. It’s definitely a flawed movie, but I’d love to see what you guys have to say about it, and what it says about debuts and nepotism (or lack thereof?).
