Great episode! I was wondering if y’all had seen Joe(2013)? I initially wrote it off because of Nic Cage’s odd beard and his history with accents, e.g. Con Air and Captain Correlli, but I live in Austin and recently read an article about a local homeless man named Gary Poulter. He plays the young protagonists abusive father, and before the release of the movie he was found dead at a homeless camp. Anyway, upon hearing this I watched the movie on Netflix and I have to say that I was incredibly surprised. Nic Cage was very solid with just a few moments where he faltered, Tye Sheridan gives an incredible performance for a young actor, and Poulter really brought a crediblilty to his character that he might not have had without his unfortunate past.
